1️⃣ Number One: Your photography work has to be GREAT. If you can accomplish shooting exceptional headshots that are slightly different than anyone esle, you’re halfway there.
❌ So don’t skip learning your craft. I’m self taught. If I can do it, so can you. I’m in your corner!!😘
2️⃣ Number Two: The experience you provide must be a VIP experience.
No client is less than. Every client is gold. Every client should be treated like they are the star of your universe during their time with you.
❌ No god complexes, no talking down to clients who struglle in front of your lense.
✅ Elevate, elevate elevate... their experience.
3️⃣ Number Three: You must have a professional online presence.
That means, a pro website and systems for invoicing, taking depsotis and an automated calendar for bookings that make you look like a pro.
If you have all three, I PROMISE YOU clients don’t give a shit if you’re working out of your garage or if you’re self taught.
I can tell you, I worked from home for 10+ years and the only reason I decided to get a studio is because I got tired of having to clean up all the time and having to hide my cats.🐈🐈🐈⬛
By the time I was living in my two bedroom condo, I was charging $$$.
Take a guess in the comments how much I was able to charge and send this to someone who needs to hear it!🔻

Calling all actors who hate the still camera. I take that as a challenge and love to prove that the process of getting headshots CAN and SHOULD be fun!
All these people in my feed are not just somehow magically better than you on camera! Nope.They all come to me with nerves and hatred for this process but they all leave happy and looking like they do!

💁🏼♀️Here’s how to get it right the first time.
✅ Pay a professional photographer for quality headshots that pop online or reps will not be able to get you auditions.
They can only work with what you give them.
❌ And unprocessed or RAW images that have no contrast or color correction can’t compete.
✅ Figure out the specific looks you would audition for in your age group. General headshots are great for IMDB but not for auditions.
Think of your headshots as the roles you play.
✅ Work with a photographer who directs you so that you act on camera instead of just posing like a model and trying to do it all in your head.
This is the only way your personality will come through.
✅ Always always send new agents the entirety of your photo session. Let’s admit it, you suck at picking out your own headshots.
❌ Never widdle it down to the ones you like. Because you’ll likely choose the best looking ones where an agent is looking for the best marketable ones.
✅ Send them the web-gallery your pro photographer sent you. Because it makes it easy for them to mark favorites and compare your headshots side by side.
❌ Dropbox is not a viewing tool. It’s a storage tool and sharing your headshots via Dropbox makes it hard for reps to go through them all.
If you make it hard for them, you make it easy for them to not go through them carefully and declare a re-shoot is needed.
