...s/instagram-feed-pro/img/placeholder.png | We recently kicked off a sustainable initiative to donate food made in the kitchen at DREAM Mott Haven to the surrounding community. Every Friday morning, we deliver healthy, freshly-prepared meals to the Fordham Gospel Church, who ensures that the food is available to those who may need it.
We're very grateful to be able to serve our neighbors in this way!
...s/instagram-feed-pro/img/placeholder.png | We are incredibly excited to share our 2024-2028 Strategic Plan: Bending the Arc. This is our blueprint for realizing the long-term potential of the children we serve and the communities where we work. Together, we are bending the arc toward equity for every child, every family, every community. We are building something that doesn’t exist anywhere else.

...s/instagram-feed-pro/img/placeholder.png | We had an AMAZING time yesterday with the Highbridge community in Reverend T. Wendell Foster Park—right across the street from the permanent home of DREAM Highbridge Elementary and Middle Schools! Opening this fall, DREAM Highbridge's brand-new building is a 85,000-square foot space that will grow to serve students in Grades PreK-8. Like all our schools, it will be a beautiful space that our families will be excited and proud to learn in.
Do you know a family that is looking for a great school in Highbridge? You can refer them to DREAM at the link in our bio ❤️
...s/instagram-feed-pro/img/placeholder.png | Just ahead of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, DREAM's longtime friends from @sportdanslaville convened a special group of athletes—including US wheelchair basketball player @ryan_neiswender, US fencer @nzinghap, and Brazilian soccer player Rai Oliveira —for a fireside chat with several DREAM Charter High School students. This summer, the students will participate in DREAM and SDLV's annual exchange program, traveling to France for a week to attend the Olympics and take part in additional programming.
...s/instagram-feed-pro/img/placeholder.png | This week, we celebrated #TeacherAppreciationWeek across our network of schools! DREAM teachers get it done in and out of the classroom, each and every day, and we are so grateful for their work, passion, and commitment to our students. Thank you, teachers! ❤️
...s/instagram-feed-pro/img/placeholder.png | DREAM’s population of special needs students is higher than the average NYC school because our work is fueled by our deep belief in all kids. We believe that every child has the right and ability to thrive, no matter their strengths or challenges. And we believe every family should have access to the services and supports that their child needs, deserves, and is legally entitled to receive.
In fact, that belief in every child inspired one of DREAM’s core maxims: All Kids Can. This Kid Can. We live that belief daily through inclusive practices that start even before the first day of school, and last far beyond graduation day.

...s/instagram-feed-pro/img/placeholder.png | DREAM’s origins as a community youth development organization mean we have been providing free and enriching extracurricular activities to students in New York City for more than 30 years. After founding our first DREAM Charter School in 2008, that tradition of afterschool programming became a core component of our Grow the Whole Child education model, built on our belief that an intentional extended-day, extended-year education helps children develop into lifelong learners.
Today, DREAM’s free afterschool programming, available to all students, also serves as an opportunity to open children’s minds to the world around them, and provides access to enrichments historically unavailable in the communities DREAM serves.
Read our blog post at the link in our bio to learn more about just some of the afterschool offerings DREAM has provided this past school year.

...s/instagram-feed-pro/img/placeholder.png | As a charter school network, DREAM’s unique Grow the Whole Child education model is powered by four interconnected elements that drive transformative change for youth: rigorous academics; social-emotional learning; a deep commitment to family and community engagement; and a belief in the foundational importance of physical and mental health and wellness.
With DREAM’s roots as a youth-serving nonprofit organization, that commitment to family and community engagement has been a pillar of our work for more than 30 years. Today, we continue to strengthen that partnership through DREAM Family Action Councils (DFAC), a unified, informed team of DREAM families and staff who work together to support our mission and commitment to student learning, while also advocating for charter education at the community and state levels.

...s/instagram-feed-pro/img/placeholder.png | All week, students at DREAM Charter High School have been hard at work taking their Advanced Placement Exams. We celebrate our scholars' effort and discipline, and we are cheering them on as they continue their AP Exams next week!
DREAM's unique "AP for All" program requires all DCHS students to take at least four AP classes before graduation, because we believe that challenging courses better prepare students for college and other rigorous environments. This program has earned DREAM Charter High School the AP Access Award and a spot on the College Board's AP School Honor Roll.
