And by autumn, I mean it rained ALL DAY LONG till 6pm when we finally got the chance to get outside for some gorgeous portraits! These two were so much fun to work with and together with Ross from @satyrweddings we had such a laugh walking around the beautiful grounds at @clearwellcastle
Years ago, when I first became a wedding photographer, shooting portraits inside (especially on staircases) would fill me with dread. I always wanted light venues where everything would feel a whole lot easier. But these days I love the moody vibes you get when shooting in darker rooms with little pockets of light shining in. And for Christina & Dean’s wedding, it worked so well.
I do believe this is my first wedding where deep pinks and shades of black were used in the florals and I’m just here so for it 🖤
Also shout out to @makeupbybethyy for making the morning so much fun and chatty! This girl is so bloody good at her job!

My goal was to learn to play an entire song by the time I was 40. And although 40 isn’t old, it certainly makes a huge difference in how you learn something compared to when you’re young. I had no idea how hard it would be and how often I’d want to quit! But here I am, just over a year later and I can, in fact, play an entire song. Yay me 💁🏻♀️
The biggest lesson I’ve learned (and one of the most frustrating things) is I can’t always do it. Some days I’m ok and other days I cannot play anything that sounds remotely in tune. Thinking back to when I was a kid, once I knew how to do something, that was it. I just carried on being good at that thing. Or maybe that’s not the case and it’s just how I’m remembering it.
Either way, it seems with every progression there is a regression and that’s the part that makes me want to quit. But I’ve come too far to give up and I’m excited to see what another year will bring (hopefully a new guitar and some singing lessons 🙊)
Big shout out to @franklucas87 for putting up with me during our lessons. Highly recommend him for anyone else wanting to learn how to play.

Amy & Lee had an absolute blast on their day and we’re just the loveliest couple to work with 🥹
Everything looked beautiful and I was especially excited about the fact they had Amy’s 2 horses, Mon & Pie, arriving for some portraits after the ceremony. And of course, Suki the dog was there to enjoy their day with them too.

I’m so happy I booked my family in for photos with @samanthamidgleyphotography 🥰 She captured us perfectly and we had the best time paddling in the river.
I know it can sometimes feel like a lot, we travelled a few hours for this and it was a late night back for Dexter but honestly I’m obsessed with these images. I think it’s so important for our kids to grow up seeing us (mums) in the frame, even if we don’t always feel photogenic or our best selves.
Sami is amazing so if you’re Dorset way I’d highly recommend booking your session with her. And if you’re Wiltshire based, I have availability October onwards 🧡

Despite these two burying a sausage, this gorgeous wedding at my favourite venue, did in fact feature a rainy day. But this didn’t stop the fun and laughter throughout. Keira & Josh certainly know how to party & I have no doubt they danced well into the early hours.
I remember meeting them before the big day and the key points that stood out to me were: they both liked a drink and rarely turned down an opportunity for a glass of wine (same) and they wanted an outdoor/Italy vibe wedding. They sounded like my kind of people so I was thrilled when they booked me!
And what a day it was! Not quite the Italy vibes due to the weather but beautiful nonetheless.

I met Thomas and Seda at Abbey House Gardens where I wondered around for a bit near to where they were hanging out. I walked over and pretended I was a student photographer who needed to practice taking photos of people and would they mind if I used them as my subjects.
Seda was so excited about this and agreed to pose for a few shots with her friend who was also hanging out with them. Then I asked Thomas to step in for a few photos with Seda. I asked them to turn away from eachother so I could practice this certain couples pose.
Seda had no idea she was the only one turning around but when I asked her to face Thomas again, he was on one knee!
It was such a perfect moment and afterwards they all praised my brilliant acting skills 😂

These two were so lovely to work for, always asking if I needed a drink or some food and just generally looked after me all day. Which, of course is not what it’s all about but it definitely makes a difference when you’re on your feet all day.
New venue for me and I’d love to go back. It’s absolutely stunning at the rectory hotel, even in the rain!
